I have always been fascinated by dark horror that used human relationships and journeys to tell the tale. Atom is a tale of prejudices and broken families. In Atom, the adults are twisted by either the one event of note that happened a year ago or just their day to day lives. Sam and Scott, the two teenagers in the book have managed to retain their sense of humour, despite the tensions in Sam’s family life. Sam is desperate to repair his family whilst Scott is desperate to have one. The arrival of Felstar in the town leads to much finger pointing and animosity, especially when the good folks of Atom begin to die in horrific circumstances. Felstar seems to have no sense of humour and his acerbic manner does not endear him to anyone, except for Louise, Scott’s mother. This was not the family Scott had in mind.

  • My name is Les Hick. I live in Warwickshire in the UK with my wife and three children. I have self-published two novels. Both novels are currently being rewritten and edited. Oh yes, I made the elementary mistakes that many of us fall prey to.
  • The idea for Atom came from an editorial which reflected on how little we knew about ourselves, let alone each other,
  • Those elementary mistakes referred to above and the elimination of them is how best I can be helped in this project. Criticism and the pointing out of errors and inaccuracies are welcome and positively encouraged.
  • My work background is in the financial sector and at the moment my main job is running an online music business.
  • Please follow and contribute. I want Atom to be the book that leaves that haunting and disturbing thought in your head, taking you by surprise when you thought there was nothing to worry about. The synopsis is complete and the characters are already in place. The path is set, but you can help twist and turn it.
