Looking at planet earth, one cannot help but observe the contrast in human nature. We’ve been to the moon, soon we’ll be sending people to Mars and recently we’ve photographed Pluto and Charon, yet problems on earth abound and the human race just can’t seem to sort it out.

Historical sources are full of traveler’s accounts, Marco Polo’s account is possibly one of the most notable to western scholars/readers.

My question is, how would an extra terrestrial intelligent being judge our planet and specifically the human race? would it be a place they would want to "do business" with, or rather "judge to hell". Will they be joyfully surprised at our "civilized reasoning" or utterly appalled at our lack of love, mercy and clear thinking?
