A HEROIC BEGINNING is a direct result of my love for superhero stories. I still remember going to the local comic book store as a kid to pick up the latest issues of Venom or Iron Man. Yet, the downside of being a fan is that sometimes the people who write these stories take your beloved characters in directions you don’t like. It broke my heart when they killed Captain America and I detested the Clone Saga in the Spider-man comics. That’s why I want to tell my own superhero story in the mold of someone like Stan Lee, Denny O’Neil, and Mark Millar. I want to control what happens to the heroes I care about for good or ill. I wrote my story as a novel because it allows me to flesh out my characters more, give them more depth, and it allows anyone who reads it to imagine the action without it being interpreted by an artist.
