The first draft for A Bird’s Prey is complete, and I am still working through my first major edit.

Travis Singelmore had everything a teenager could ask for: A best friend, freedom to be himself, and parents that loved him more than anything in the world. He just didn’t realize it until it was too late. When he was fourteen, his life was torn apart. His parents were killed in an automobile accident, and his life changed forever.

A Bird’s Prey is the first in a planned trilogy. Read chapters 1-5 below, and learn how Travis’s amazing story begins.

About the author

Kevin Muhleisen was born and raised in the Tampa Bay Area, Florida. He continues to live there with his wonderfully supportive wife and awesome, 6 year old son. He has a great career in technical support management, but his passion is writing, a passion he didn’t discover until after the birth of his son. A Bird’s Prey is Kevin’s first novel. He has also written and self published collection of children’s poems titled, All I Wanted Was A Cookie.

A Bird’s Prey was written a little at a time, over the course of 2 years. The book in its current for is very different from the original concept. There were no daggers, no birds, and the audience was supposed to be younger. Once I began writing, however, the characters began to write themselves. Their personality’s made an appearance, and everything changed.

A Bird’s Prey is a labor of love for me. There were a few times I could have stopped writing, but the characters wouldn’t let me. They wanted their story to be told, and wouldn’t let me give up.

Now, I’m sharing their story with others, and I need everyone’s help. I need as many people as possible to know of A Bird’s Prey. The story is just taking flight. Spread the word. Squawk about it with your flocks. Don’t let anyone get left behind when this bird flies south.
