The topic of depression can be bitter pill. Taken too seriously
and you can bum out your readers, making them wonder why they’re reading your
work in the first place. But Sunshine is
Forever does a good job of balancing a depressed teenager’s viewpoint with
a mix of satire and comic relief. I’m always drawn to works that have something
to say, and I’m dying to know the mystery behind Hunter’s illness and how he
grows as a character. I love the premise and potential of Sunshine is Forever.
