I am writing this story so that kids of different backgrounds can see themselves in a fantasy story. Growing up as a young black girl who was lover of fantasy, it was hard to see myself represented. Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia, Lemony Snickett books... All of them feature mostly white characters. I wanted to make sure that there were characters that different kids could look up to and see themselves like its a mirror.

My writing style is a bit sarcastic and really visual. I hope I can use these skills to craft a great fantasty/horror novel. I want to be the next big horror writer and I am hoping this is the story that makes that happen.
