14 Days in Randyland

This is a true story of lost love and two separate journeys that come together as one by fate twenty-six years later. His son was looking through his old memorabilia when he found a ring. The lost class ring of the woman he had loved in college. The ring brought back wonderful memories and after some anxiety ridden deliberation he sent her a message in 2006. He waited and waited.

Frustrated, he had given up all hope, when sitting in a Berlin café, he received an email. She hadn’t got his message till 2008, and immediately started searching for him, finally in 2009 she had found him. They got reacquainted through the exchange of countless emails. She was married and living in Phoenix, Arizona. He was separated and living in Berlin, Germany.

It wasn’t long before the love they had buried deep in their hearts starting growing. In December 2009, they made a life altering decision. Knowing they had not seen each other in twenty-six years, they took a leap of faith and decided to follow their hearts.

She filed for divorce in January 2010 and he flew to Phoenix in February to see her. They rented a condo and stocked it with everything they needed. There would be no outside interruptions. Just the two of them, alone, for fourteen days in a magical place they called ‘Randyland’.

These fourteen days included passionate love making, disagreements, tears were shed and at times the many truths they find leave them shocked over what they had believed for so long. Answers to the dreaded “What if…” questions are revealed. They leave ‘Randyland’ changed. She now knows what is like to be part of the love story not just reading or watching it. He is in love.
