- I wanted to offer a story that would explore many aspects of life, from personal realization, to the nature of love, fate and of the Universe itself. The first half could practically be considered an incognito metaphysical instruction manual, of sorts. I was inspired by the way that philosophical concepts were explored and presented through the storyline in "The Alchemist" by Paolo Coelho... yet I wanted "Defying Serendipity" to be strongly driven by its characters and plot; more so than said book.

At times the story is an extremely fictionalized abstraction of various chapters in my life all rolled into one. Yet this is not an imaginative autobiography because there are purely fictional characters and scenarios as well... and I have yet to experience vortexes that enable time travel or falling in love with a Celtic deity. Then there are also parts where I leave it up to the reader to decide what the limits of plausible reality are, for themselves.

The first draft of this book has been completed with a total of 26 chapters. The first 4 chapters that I have posted here are only a glimpse of the agonizing drama and of the whimsical and euphoric adventures that ensue.
Being it that this is my first writing endeavor, of this magnitude, I would love any feedback in terms of the story development, writing style and any other input that you might have as a reader. As you might be aware, this is an unedited version that still needs to be proof-read. The beauty of that is that it is still a malleable creature that can shift with your input!

Thank you for taking the time to check out my draft! I am open to answering any questions. Enjoy!
